BISE Kohat came into existence on 19 January 2002 with Brigadier Retired Talat Imtiaz Naqvi as the Founder Chairman. Fifty kanals of land will be acquired on the highway. The master plan and detailed drawings of the new board complex were approved by Lieutenant General Retired Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah Governor of NWFP Controlling Authority in 2024 and the construction of the new complex started on November 1, 2002.
